Week #3: Join me on my journey to create the Life Re-Builder Community for helping people that have experienced devastation to re-build and transform their life with purpose and meaning.
Week 3 marks deeper insight into what and why Clarity is vital
What a week! As we continue to develop the Life Re-Builder Community the more I understand how essential it is to share the process with you. I must admit – I find it essential for me (and I hope valuable to you) as I learn so much by doing the work and by sharing the journey. It pushes me to find my own voice and how I show up for you and for myself.
One of the mantras I live by is: “life is the journey, not the destination” and as cliché as it may sound, it’s a constant reminder on how we show up DAILY in our lives. As I mentioned in my previous post my personal journey creating the Life Re-Builder Community is a beautiful daily (at times hourly) reminder of what really matters. Each step along the way can be mindfully experienced or put on autopilot and blend with everything else. So much of what has helped me along the way, has to do with understanding the distinct relationship between perception and observation. Yes, I know this may sound ‘deep’ but allow me to simplify it:
From the moment we wake up in the morning until we fall asleep, every waking minute requires us to navigate endless situations that demand endless decisions to be made.
Each decision holds immense power as to how it will serve us. From the simple decision of what we choose to fuel our body with to more complex ones related to actions that affect us mentally and emotionally which hold the key to what’s possible and doable in our lives. Each decision can be made from a clear, present and self-aware place, or not. It’s really that simple… Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying it’s easy, all I am saying is that there are only two places from which we make a decision. One results in vagueness, uncertainty and at times inability to make a decision at all, while the other resonates so deeply that no matter what the end result is – you know that whatever happens is just as it should and you are in peace with it. And the beauty of this is that you have the power of choice!
Please share your experience with a recent decision that reflect the power of choice and in my next post we’ll dive deeper and explore the enormous power of choice and how you can harness it to elevate your daily decisions which ultimately affect your entire life.

Week 2 is almost over and it’s a balanced dance between patience and strategy…
After many years incubating the idea of the Life Re-Builder Community the time has come to bring it to the world. I can no longer sit on the fence and keep this information to myself.
My journey to re-build my own life is no different to the same journey people embarked on thousands of years ago and continue to do so daily. Many books, studies, research and stories have been written about it and the Life Re-Builder Community is here to share them as a source of inspiration, empowerment and guidance. My experience of re-building my life multiple times (some will say too many…) has allowed me to distill the essence of what it takes to bounce back and re-build. There’s logic to the madness and you’ll learn all about it as we go. But the real strength of our community to really grow and provide the necessary information will happen when you participate and share your valuable journey, insights and ideas. So, I am happy to announce the creation of the Life Re-Builder Community Facebook Group and invite you to join us. This is where real magic happens – you’ll have access to special content created by myself and others, videos, stories, tools, techniques, daily winning rituals to anchor and ground you and of course – yours and others Life Re-Builder stories.
My personal experience with making major decisions, committing to them and following through has always been a humbling experience. I trust you can relate…
On Monday, I will start working out… On Tuesday, I will start eating healthier… On Wednesday, I will begin that project which I planned on doing for over a year… And the list goes on and on As humans, we are programed to do whatever it takes to remain comfortable, we’ll do almost anything to avoid pain and will create a wonderful story to convince ourselves (and others) that the change we wish to do would be great. But… life has a funny way to show up right at the moment when we’re about to wear our running shoes and go to the gym, or the planned diet change that was about to start on Monday must be rescheduled for next week because we’re invited to go out on Wednesday with our friends to this great new restaurant that just opened… or we just can’t find time to begin that project we committed to start on the weekend… As each ‘goal’ fades away and life takes over we reinforce that annoying voice in our head “here you go again… all these great goals and nothing really happens, it’s useless to even try” How difficult is it to really change old habits and install new ones that actually stick? The real answer: it’s extremely difficult!!! Most of us put our self needs last, it’s the children, our spouse, work, social commitments and other ‘life necessities’ that take precedence over our own self-care. This is the number one reason why we so often can’t find time to take care of ourselves and repeatedly run into the frustrating cycle of committing to do something and not following through. For change to take place we need to find a resonating ‘hell yes’ reason that will initiate a sequence of behavior changes which create a state where not doing what we committed to do is more painful than doing it.
So in this week post I’d like to introduce you to what I call Radical Self-Care.
This is where you allow yourself to be first priority and permission is given and accepted to actually be OK with taking care of yourself. Reality is, that if you don’t have time to take care of yourself, sooner or later you’ll burn out and the consequences are enormous. Please join our Facebook group and share your personal story on what happens when you neglect taking care of yourself. Your ever well wisher Erez

Week #1: I'm sharing everything I'm learning while changing my career and building the Life Re-Builder Community
"Sunset contemplation" Costa Rica, 2017, Erez Avramov
Before we get started I want to share with you how I feel right now…
Blogging and sharing your personal story is hard! Yes, it's really, really hard. I've been trying to blog and share my story for the past 4 years, ever since I made the decision to electively amputate my right leg below the knee following a near fatal car accident. The idea to document my progress was initiated by my amazing wife Sonja and a personal wish to capture the healing journey for my children. At the time of the accident (November 18, 2010) my young daughters were only 3 and 6 years old. I knew they couldn’t understand what was going on at the time and it was important for me to have something I could share with them when they grow up. I was also tired of repeating myself dozens of times each day describing how I’m doing and what’s going on. You see, my extended family and friends live in different countries around the world and I live in Canada. Their loving concern and support has been instrumental for me so I really wanted to find a way to share what was going on and this is how my first blog "It's not about my leg" came to life.
Within few short weeks after I published my first ever blog post, other people in similar situations or in show of support began to contact me sharing and asking for help and guidance.
This was a strong motivator to continue the blog and share what I was doing, what techniques, tools and concepts I used and what actually worked and didn’t work. Overtime, I was blessed to assist many others who were a few steps behind me on their own personal life re-building and healing journey. My blog and story received a lot of media coverage when I decided to pursue a lifelong dream and set my sight on becoming the first amputee to ever race a motorcycle in the world’s toughest and longest off-road race – the Dakar Rally.
It became an inspirational story and I played my part…
I must admit that this made me feel uncomfortable. I was put on a pedestal that I never wanted to be on. When I look back on this time in my life, I was on a personal quest to find closure and acceptance. Closure with my accident and acceptance with the life altering decision to electively amputate my leg below the knee. I wanted to re-build my life with purpose and meaning and find ways to accomplish what I deemed to be important for me. I felt I needed to prove myself that I’m not disabled and that I can still do and pursue anything I wanted. Since the blog was initially intended to be personal in nature and overtime grow to be more public, I found it difficult to share my inner voice and expose my vulnerability and challenges as they happened. And believe me, they came in droves… But once my story became public, I felt, that now I needed to prove myself to others. All of a sudden, I had people sharing with me their life devastating events and how inspirational my story was to help them deal with challenges and difficult times in their own lives. However, what I discovered was that most people looked at my journey as something outside of them. It represented an inner desire to change their lives and pursue their own dreams but they were afraid or didn't know how to move forward and make it happen. And then it dawned on me, I can be of more service if I could help people find their inner confidence and inner strength to breakthrough whatever is holding them back and help them re-build their lives with purpose and meaning.
You can read more about my Dakar Rally journey, which by the way, I decided to let go of after an intense year of training that ended abruptly with a second accident that almost killed me..... This was my wake-up call that changed everything!
This second accident awakened me to see what is really important in life and is the reason for writing this post and creating the Life Re-Builder Community.
It was my pivotal moment where the journey to Dakar was transformed from a physically driven goal to an inner deep and meaningful journey.... the one I was preparing for all along but wasn't quite ready to take, until now. Since then I have distilled almost a decade of everything I learned about the mind, body and spirit. These essential elements form a clear road map on how to re-build your life and are becoming my new program. I can no longer hold this knowledge to myself. I feel it in my heart of hearts that not sharing it will be a disservice to those who can benefit from the insights and knowledge that has transformed my life and others. It has inspired me to step up and pay it forward. I’m doing this for three reasons:
So What Should You Do Next? A few things… To help spread the word I’m asking you to do:
3. Comment below with your thoughts and share your story
4. Please share this on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, wherever your favorite social sites are so we can share the love with other people. That’s all I ask in return. For that I’m literally going to be give you behind the scenes access to my entire process of what it takes to build a world class community. You’re going to see what I’m doing, how I’m doing it, and why I’m doing it. Leave a comment down below. Let me know if you’re excited. Subscribe to the blog. Please share this. I’m excited to have you on this journey! Hopefully you’ll learn a thing or two along the way. Your ever well wisher Erez |
